Sting Radio is the student radio station of The University of Texas at Brownsville and Texas Southmost College. On Aug. 24, 2009, the Student Media Department launched the Internet-based radio station with Twisted Sister’s “I Wanna Rock.” The station’s team is composed of students serving in the positions of station manager, advertising sales manager, news and information director and web master. Volunteer students, faculty and staff of the university serve as DJs and VJs. The station is located in Room 1.16 of UTB/TSC’s Student Union.
